Portfolio
Here is a selection of portfolio works that demonstrates Tomas’ compositional range. Much of the work presented here are re-scoring exercises that demonstrate the breadth of his abilities. From composing for interpersonal character drama to high-concept genre fiction, Tomas can provide a variety of musical approaches to a wide range of genres – all the while maintaining a consistent quality.
When The Clapping Stops
This scene, from the 2022 short film “When The Clapping Stops“, was submitted by Tomas as his entry to the 2026 Indie Film Music Contest – an independantly organised international film scoring competition. Tomas’ score subtly accompanies the intimate scene, with a powerful rise as the sequence reaches its emotional peak.
The film in question, written by Sam Briggs and directed by Cameron Perry, follows a young care worker through both his personal and professional struggles – it was donated by the creators for use in this year’s competition.
Midnight
This scene, from the 2008 Doctor Who episode ‘Midnight‘, was part of Tomas’ master’s thesis – in which he re-scored modern science fiction scenes with the compositional techniques of the genre’s previous eras.
For this sequence, Tomas was inspired by the BBC Radiophonic Workshop who created the score for the original 1963 version of the series. The result is a haunting, sound-design centric score with occasional instrumental flourishes for further dramatic effect.
Under The Skin
Also from Tomas’ master’s thesis is this re-scored sequence from the 2014 sci-fi thriller ‘Under The Skin‘, written and directed by Johnathon Glazer.
Tomas was inspired by the music of compositional duo The Barrons, especially their score for the 1955 film ‘Forbidden planet’ – resulting in an unsettlingly abstract sound-scape that compliments the surreal (and horrific) imagery of the scene.
Stray
This re-scored trailer for the 2022 video game ‘Stray‘ by BlueTwelve Studio demostrates the variety of media Tomas is capable of scoring. Not just straight forward scenes and sequences, but also the tightly edited, functionally specific medium of advertisements.
The game is a cyberpunk adventure game which follows a stray cat who falls into a walled city populated by robots. The score Tomas has created follows the musical traditions of the genre and builds over the course of the trailer towards the title reveal.
